Many of you (including me) have received inquiries from fraudsters saying they need your help in claiming money you or they own. It goes without saying that you should be very cautious about responding to these inquiries, especially providing personal information to strangers.
Here are some thoughts about these concerns, hopefully resulting in you being comfortable with Asset Recovery Specialists and me performing this asset recovery service for you:
Many of you (including me) have received inquiries from fraudsters saying they need your help in claiming money you or they own. It goes without saying that you should be very cautious about responding to these inquiries, especially providing personal information to strangers.
Here are some thoughts about these concerns, hopefully resulting in you being comfortable with Asset Recovery Specialists and me performing this asset recovery service for you:
• I can provide you with over a dozen personal references who will confirm that I am an honest person. Some of these people have known me for over 30 years.
• I will show you my Private Investigator badge. You can verify my designation through the State of Iowa. In order to receive this designation, the State did background checks on me. State and Federal finger print checks are also made.
• I have been a resident of West Des Moines, Iowa for over 30 years.
• The State Treasurer will not issue any checks for successful claims to me or my company. All payments are made directly to the owner of the abandoned assets at your address of record. If your address is different from what the State has in its records, we will need to provide the State with documentary proof of your current address so they know where to send the proceeds.
• If possible, I want to meet in person so you can see who I am & feel comfortable working with me.
• I will need to get some personal information from you in order to submit a successful claim. Generally this information includes your drivers license/government issued identification and social security number (your card or W2 showing your number). The State of Iowa requires this information so they know they will be paying the proceeds to the correct person. Once the claim has been paid, your information is deleted from my records.
• I will never ask you for your bank account numbers or the like. All claim payments are sent directly by the State Treasurer to you.
• I do not ask for any up-front fees from you. You would only be billed once you are paid by the State of Iowa.
